Occupational Therapy

Skills for Daily Living

An “occupation” is often thought of as a job or place of employment.  But for a child, their occupation is daily living! Play time, mealtime, bath time, bed time. Occupational therapy helps a child develop and strengthen the fine motor skills needed to participate independently in age-appropriate activities.

Occupational therapy overlaps somewhat with physical therapy, so it can be a bit confusing when your child needs both.  I’ve interviewed experts who explain the difference, and how both therapies work together for a comprehensive and integrated approach to developing and strengthening your child’s whole body development, functionality, and movement.

I will be sharing resources, tips, and tools that I have come across during my son’s OT journey which I hope you will help you and your own kiddo, too!
